CLOVER, S.C. – The boil water notice for Clover residents has been lifted following the rupture of the town's main water line on Wednesday.
Tests conducted on water samples from Clover were negative, prompting the boil water notice to be lifted.
The water main break happened on Highway 321 North near Old North Main Street Wednesday morning.
City officials say the water line is fixed, and water service is restored to customers. However, consumers were urged to boil their water for about 24 hours following the rupture.
As a precaution, chlorine was added to the water.
The break forced Clover School District to close early Wednesday.
