CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Monday night, NBC Charlotte anchor Dion Lim served as a guest judge for the semi-final rounds of Charlotte’s first 'Fire In The City' competition dining event, featuring local chefs and local ingredients.
Chefs from Mimosa Grill faced off against E2 Emeril’s Eatery in a battle of six courses at Bonterra Dining and Wine Room restaurant in Dilworth. Each dish featured a mystery ingredient which was kept secret until this afternoon: Olde Mecklenburg Brewery beer.
Fire In The City holds competitions all across the Carolinas -- including Raleigh, Asheville and Wilmington -- with the emphasis on locally sourced and locally grown produce and meats. The winner of Monday night’s semi-finals, Mimosa Grill, moves on to the finals, and ultimately to the championship battle, which could be versus chefs from other competition dining cities.
