SALISBURY, N.C. -- A plane made a hard landing, then flipped over at a Rowan County Airport Wednesday morning.
Authorities say the RV9 aircraft is owned and piloted by Robert Poole.
The aircraft, with only Poole on board, flipped over and landed upside down on the side of the runway in Salisbury.

Fellow pilots at the airport say Poole was practicing take-offs and landings at the time of the incident.
The pilot was able to vacate the cockpit on his own and crawl away.
Rowan County EMS tended to the pilot on the scene, and say he had only minor injuries. Poole refused to go to the hospital.
The plane was transported to Poole's hangar where FAA crews will continue their investigation into the cause of the crash.
