CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- We're coming up on an exciting time for high schoolers.  It's prom season.

But the big dance, especially those beautiful dresses can get expensive.  So a local organization is asking for your help to make it a special time for those in need.

More than 650 girls in the Charlotte area will get a free prom dress this year, all in thanks to Girl Talk Foundation's, Prom Project.  However, it all depends on your generosity.

Friday is the last day to donate dresses.  Girl Talk is looking for new and gently used gowns, sizes 0-26.  They can be dropped off at several locations across the Charlotte area.

Girls interested in a prom dress must sign up on the Girl Talk website.

High Schoolers will pick out their dresses and attend a free etiquette class Saturday at Imaginon Library in uptown.
