CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- An east Charlotte family got an early Sunday morning scare when their home was riddled with bullets.

"She said that she is thankful to God that nothing happened, because she believes in God, she thinks God is the reason nobody got hurt," said a Grandmother who didn't want to be identified.

She was in her Balgreen Court home when shots rang out around shortly before 3 a.m.

"She was sleeping she was kind of tired because she had gone to church early that day she heard the shot go through the window and got scared and woke up," said the Woman through an interpreter.

At least six bullets hit the home including one that went through the children's bedroom just above the bed.

The woman had no idea why someone would do this. Police are trying to determine who is responsible.

"She said they don't mess with nobody she goes to church is a good person she don't know why that would happen here," said the victim.

A total of seven people were in the home, including four children between the ages of nine and 13.
