CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg police took a man into custody after a  brief chase in northwest Charlotte Friday morning.

The chase started after a woman called police regarding an incident with three men in an Impala on I-85. Police tried to pull the car over but the driver refused to stop.

Police chased the car off of I-85 to a nearby neighborhood.

One man jumped out of the car and started running along Tennessee Avenue near the Brookshire Boulevard and ended up in a neighborhood, according to police.

The two other men did not jump out of the car and were taken into custody by officers, according to police.

About 25 minutes after the chase started, several officers and a K9 unit were able to find the third suspect hiding in a house within the neighborhood they were searching.
