CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Sullivan Middle School assistant principal that’s facing felony charges of child pornography is out of jail on bond. Darin Pearson is scheduled to make his first court appearance Monday in Charlotte.

Pearson was arrested last Friday following an investigation by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Youth and Cyber Crimes Division. Officials say a search of Pearson's home turned up electronic documents connecting Pearson to child pornography.

Pearson is currently on paid administrative leave. He has worked for Rock Hill Schools for more than 10 years as an administrator and teacher.

Two additional counts of sexual exploitation of a child were filed against Pearson since NBC Charlotte first reported the allegations, putting the tally up to five total counts. His bonds totaled $20,000.
