The Girl Talk Foundation is once again launching Prom Project. This is the 11th year for the project.
For the next couple of weeks the Girl Talk Foundation will be a various high schools across Charlotte, encouraging girls to sign up for the big event in April.
New and gently used dresses are donated by the community. Some girls won't have the opportunity to go to prom without the help this organization.
"They're very excited to look in the mirror and to see themselves you know all dressed up. It’s just a wonderful feeling to see them so excited and feeling like beautiful, that's one of the times that they feel absolutely beautiful," said Ursula McClary, a volunteer with Prom Project.
Tayzia Washington is a junior at Vance High School. She prom is an important day.
"It's a big day as far as in my high school career and in my life in general, it's something I will want to remember."
She’s appreciative of those who donate to Prom Project.
"Obviously you can't go to prom without a dress and everybody want to look beautiful on their prom night. So, it's just, it's really a king gesture."
