CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Thousands waited outside Time Warner Cable Arena early Sunday morning for a chance at stardom.
‘America Idol’ is holding auditions in seven cities around the U.S., and for the first time ever in Charlotte.
"I drove all the way from Columbus, Ohio," said one hopeful. "This is what I've dreamed of forever."
Registration is being held Sunday and Monday.
On Tuesday ‘American Idol’ host, Ryan Seacrest, will appear at the arena with Scotty McCreery when the actual auditions begin.
‘American Idol’ producers expect to have as many as 15,000 over the next two days at the arena.
