In an emotional interview the day after Troy Whisnant killed an officer, and police found the bodies of his dead father and step-mother, his sister spoke only with NBC Charlotte.
Jenny Laws says her brother had serious problems and her father died trying to save him.
Laws calls her father and step-mother great people, who only wanted the best for Troy.
The Burke County Sheriff's Office says Whisnant lived in the house after killing Levi and Rhonda Whisnant. On Wednesday, he gunned down U.S. Forestry Service Officer Jason Crisp.
