A dozen roadways remain closed in Lincoln Co.

LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. -- The Lincoln County Office of Emergency Management says multiple roadways remain closed due to extensive damage sustained during the floods over the last few days.

The following roadways are closed indefinitely, pending damage assessments:

  • Hoover Road
  • Macedonia Church Road
  • Palm Tree Church Road
  • Burgin Smith Road
  • Beam Lumber Road
  • Zur Leonard Road
  • Hallman Mill Road
  • Reeps Grove Church Road
  • Dan Rhyne Road
  • Tallent Road
  • Bill Sain Road
  • Howards Creek Mill Road

Authorities would also like to remind folks to not drive around barricades that the Department of Transportation placed on roadways. Officials are blocking off roadways due to the inherent danger they impose to the public.

Authorities also noted that at this time, a federal disaster declaration has not yet been issued.
