Well you just knew the warm air couldn't last much longer. Overnight tonight the first of two cold fronts will arrive, each one with a blast colder air.
Tonight's cold front arrives towards morning Wednesday with increasing clouds and a small chance of rain across the Piedmont. In the mountains we will see a few snow flurries.
The bigger story is the cold air which has already arrived in the midwest.
The good news for the Carolinas is that the cold air will be moving over less snow cover. Which means it will modify or warm-up slightly. By the time it arrives here it;s still cold but not as cold as back in the Arctic Blast of Janaury.
The rest of the week will remain well below our average high of 58° with the morning lows in the 20s.
