I recently spoke with some of the folks at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden, they mentioned the recent cold weather in the Carolinas has sent back the flowers and trees about two weeks.

It’s unusual but not surprising that the weather has been cold as records show we have had snow into April.

The latest we have seen an inch of snow in Charlotte was in 1880 when one inch fell. The latest trace of snow was recorded in Charlotte was back in 1928 when a few flurries fell.

As the length of daylight continues to get longer the weather should gradually get warmer. In Charlotte we are gaining about two minutes of daylight per day.

Normal high temperatures in April will warm from 68 at the beginning of the month to 75 by the end.
