CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The heavy rain that came through Monday evening has moved out and will give way to sun for Tuesday afternoon.

Tuesday morning started out foggy but will gave way to sun and warm temperatures for the afternoon.

"The heavy rain has moved out and it will warm up today," forecaster Larry Sprinkle said. "It will be a lot better then the 40s yesterday. We'll see temperatures in the mid 60s today."

Today will be mostly  sunny with highs in the low to mid-60s. Winds will be northwest 10-15 mph. The mountains will also see clear skies and a slow warm up, according to the First Warn Storm Team.

Tonight temperatures dropped to the mid 30s and skies will be cloudy.

Wednesday will be much of the same, with sun and temperatures in the mid to upper 50s.

"Tomorrow afternoon will be 57 degrees for the high," Sprinkle said. "Thursday will be cooler with temperatures only reaching the upper 40s with some sun and clouds mixing in."

An arctic front arrives Wednesday night dropping highs back into the upper 40s on Thursday.

Temperatures will dip below freezing on Friday morning. High temperatures will barely climb into the low 50s Friday, Saturday and Sunday, according to the First Warn Storm Team.
