Warming centers open in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Red Cross wants to help people in need get out of the cold while the bitter temperatures plague Charlotte.

A warming center has been opened at 618 North College Street in the Mecklenburg County Homeless Resource Center.

Beds and cots are not provided, but it will be open until noon tomorrow for anyone who needs to get out of the cold overnight.

Salvation Army Women's Shelter (for women, Children and single women)
Extra capacity available

Men's Shelter of Charlotte

Registration is required by 4:30 p.m. today for that night
