CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Thunder and lightning woke some Charlotte residents Saturday morning.
Two strong systems of severe weather blew threw the area Saturday, some of which was severe. The worst is over, but rain should continue to fall throughout the day.
Along with downpours came very strong wind gusts, and saturated grounds that could destabilize trees. There have yet to be any reports of serious damage.
Various watches and warnign were issued throughout the day. The only remaining one as of late Saturday afternoon is a flood warning in Gaston County. See list here.
Despite record low temperatures earlier this week, the numbers will climb. Saturday’s highs are expected to reach the low 60s.
The rain will move out by nightfall and clear skies will carry us into Sunday. Game day will be cool, but clear. Temperatures will reach the mid-50s but there is no rain in sight for the 49ers, Panthers matchup.
