How to report a power outage

It's a good idea to make sure everyone in your house knows where you would go in a tornado warning. Here are some tips from Chief Meteorologist Brad Panovich.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Duke Energy officials are busy mending power outages after severe storms battered the Carolinas Wednesday.

Duke Energy said early Thursday morning there were about 65 reported outages in Gaston County, 121 in Mecklenburg County and 57 in the Mount Holly area.

Duke Energy says they hope to restore power by 7 a.m. Thursday.
