The Weddington 11U National League All Star team aka the Weddington Menace will compete for the 11U Little League State Championship in Wilson, NC on Thursday evening. The team is from WCWAA and coached by Rich Cerreta, Mark Mennitt, and Steven Helms.
The team won the District 3 Championship and has gone 3-0 in the State Championship with wins against Bull City, Wilkes County and Southwest Forsyth. If they win on Thursday they will compete in the Southeast Tournament of State Champions in Greenville, NC. State Champions from NC, SC, Virginia, Georgia, West Virginia, Alabama, Florida and Tennessee will comptete.
The outstanding athletes include Reid Mayers, Zac Cerreta, Joshua Manuel, Mark Conner, Ian White, Patrick Morrison, Matthew Helms, Sam Mennitt, Scott Tuttle, Ryan Amos and Cade Vela.
