Mashed Potato Casserole

Needed:

-5 lb. bag of white potatoes(peeled and chopped)

-3- blocks of cream cheese

-2- stick of butter (or maybe just a little more:)

-1-pound of ground chuck hamburger meat

-1-pound package of hot sausage

-Worcestershire Sauce

-half of a grated white onion

-2 Tablespoons of flour

-whole milk

-shredded sharp cheddar

In a pot:

Boil potatoes in water with a stick of butter and a little salt until fork tender

Drain and use a hand potato masher and mash potatoes with cream cheese and butter and a little salt/pepper.....use two blocks of cream cheese in mashing and then pinch little pieces of cream cheese into mashed potatoes for a strong cream cheese flavor.

In a large skillet:

Brown hamburger meat and hot sausage in a large skillet with grated onion and salt/pepper(be generous and add a couple shots of Worcestershire)....best time to flavor the meat is now...while cooking:)

Once meat is cooked....add flour to cover meat to thicken and then add milk to make gravy. All while stirring and watching for desired thickness....keep on a high heat and never walk away from skillet(stirring the whole time) ....until you are finished and turn off burner:) Start with a cup of milk and then just keep adding to make desired thick Gravy. Not too much at a time so you don’t have runny gravy:)

In a 9x13 buttered baking dish:

Add mashed potatoes and then make holes all over them with a cup. Add the hamburger/sausage gravy in each of the holes. Top all of it with grated sharp cheddar cheese and bake at 375 until cheese is melted. Serve right out of the oven.

Toppings:

-Crispy chopped bacon

-Chopped tomatoes

-Chopped green onions

-Chopped fresh parsley

Great side dishes:

-Tomato/onion/Cucumber salad with balsamic dressing

-butter beans (frozen small package of baby Lima’s in a pot with a spoonful of chicken base and salt and pepper and a half stick of butter...so yummy:)

Great dessert:

Apple Turnovers
