Recipe: Spaghetti in a meatball

A fun spin on traditional spaghetti and meatballs the family will love.


Spaghetti IN a Meatball

This is a giant meatball baked with spaghetti, sauce & cheese inside.

1 lb Ground Beef or mix of ground beef and Italian sausage

1 cup breadcrumbs

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 egg

¼ cup chopped fresh parsley

1 tbs salt

½ tbs pepper

½ box spaghetti, cooked al dente

8 oz Shredded Mozzarella

1 quart Cannizzaro Marinara, Mushroom Marinara, Arrabbiata, or Vodka Sauce.

Using hands, mix first 7 ingredients until just blended.

Toss cooked spaghetti with 1 cup of your favorite sauce.

Line a medium size bowl with plastic wrap.  Spray wrap with pan spray.

Wet hands and with wet hands, mold the meat mixture around the bowl on all sides.

Sprinkle ½ cheese.  Add half of the spaghetti.  Using the plastic wrap to help, form the meat mixture to seal in the spaghetti.

Line a cookie sheet with foil and spray.  Place over the meatball and invert.

Bake at 375 for 30 minutes.  Serve over warm sauce with more sauce ladled over the top. 

Serve with a little side of the remaining spaghetti.
