Charlotte-area movie theater offering $1 kids tickets all summer long

From your tickets to the popcorn and drink, going to the movies can get expensive. But one local theater is offering families an affordable summer alternative.

INDIAN LAND, S.C. — Going to the movies nowadays isn't a cheap. From your ticket to the popcorn and drink you're inevitably going to buy, it all adds up, which is why a theater in South Carolina is giving kids and their parents a big discount this summer.

The Redstone theater in Indian Land is letting kids in for just $1 and the adults? Their admission is free. The special discounted kids movies start at 10 a.m. every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday through August 15.

"I like it becuase nowadays most kids sit at home and watch movies on their devices or TV And don't get that social experience of being out in the community," said one parent.

The deals don't stop with your ticket, though. Popcorn and drinks also $1 each for the kids movies.

"It's a great opportunity to escape the heat and a cheap way of doing it," said one theater employee.
