Jim Noble is bringing 'heartfelt Southern barbecue' to Charlotte and we can't wait

“I fell in love with barbecue when I was a child, traveling with my father and stopping at the storied barbecue smokehouses around the state."

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Famous restaurateur, Jim Noble, is set to open his fifth restaurant in Charlotte!

According to a news release, Noble's new restaurant, Noble Smoke, is 25 years in the making.

Located at 2216 Freedom Drive, Noble Smokes is expected to open on July 25, with a soft opening phase with a limited daily menu sometime after July 4.

Noble Smoke’s concept of “heartfelt Southern barbecue” features meats smoked in the 1,800 square foot smokehouse, using eight wood-fired smokers, six made of steel (Texas-style) and two traditional North Carolina masonry barbecue pits. Noble Smoke is the culmination of more than two decades of travel and research, as well as an ode to his North Carolina upbringing.

“I fell in love with barbecue when I was a child, traveling with my father and stopping at the storied barbecue smokehouses around the state,” said Jim Noble, executive chef and owner of Noble Food & Pursuits. “My hope with Noble Smoke is to carry on the tradition of classic, wood-smoked Carolina barbecue and honor all of the barbecue legends who came before me.”

Jim Noble owns four other restaurants in Charlotte including The King's Kitchen, which employs men and women many would deem unemployable. Profits and proceeds from The King’s Kitchen go toward feeding the poor and operating the on-site job-training and life-skills development program at the restaurant.
