DAVIDSON, N.C. — COVID-19 recovery continues for many small businesses even more than a year into the pandemic. The Town of Davidson is now offering its solution to support through awarding thousands of dollars in grants.
The Davidson Board of Commissioners voted to allocate the money as part of the $50,000 in funding received through the American Rescue Plan. Ana Vogel, owner of Davidson Chocolate Company, says that's money they can make the most of.

“We need a lot of help with the outside sitting area," Vogel said.
The shop plans to expand sitting areas outside to prevent overcrowding inside and continue to maintain COVID-19 safety standards.
“The gloves, the mask, all that it’s an added cost that we didn’t have at the beginning before the pandemic," she said.
Each business that applies can receive up to $4,000 in grants to help keep business booming.
“Our businesses are a central part of our community," Mayor Rusty Knox said. "They have shown resilience during this pandemic, but they continue to need help to operate safely. We hope that this grant will provide the necessary funds to help them stay open.”
