You should book these flights now

We’re just one month into summer but now’s the time you should start booking flights to go home for the winter holidays.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — It’s tough to think about Christmas and New Year’s Eve in the middle of summer but the experts at Scott’s Cheap Flights said it’s a must if you want to find the best airfare.

The idea is to book peak season travel during the opposite season. The reasoning? It’s similar to finding a great deal on swimsuits in the winter.

You can stream WCNC Charlotte on Roku and Amazon Fire TV, just download the free app.

It’s what Scott’s Cheap Flights calls the "goldilocks window," that time period that’s "just right" for getting the best deal. That "goldilocks window" varies depending on your date of departure.

WCNC Charlotte is always asking "where's the money?" If you need help, reach out to WCNC Charlotte by emailing money@wcnc.com.

Scott’s Cheap Flights said normally it’s one to three months in advance for domestic travel and two to eight months in advance for international departures.

That window changes when booking peak travel times like the middle of summer or around wintertime holidays like Christmas and New Year’s Eve.

Translation: the time to book flights for your winter holiday plans is now.
