UNION COUNTY, N.C. -- A shooting at a motel in Union County left one person dead and three others hurt Sunday morning, according to police.

Monroe Police responded to a call at the Relax Inn in the 600 block of West Roosevelt Boulevard in Monroe around 1 a.m. Upon arrival, officers found four men, identified as Vashawn Colston, Terrence Wingo, Christian Cole and Montavis Huntley, with apparent gunshot wounds.

According to police, Colston was pronounced dead, Wingo suffered serious injuries, Cole is in critical condition and Huntley suffered minor injuries from the shooting.

Police identified Colston and Cole as the two shooters in the incident. The deadly shooting remains under investigation, according to Monroe Police.
