CHARLOTTE, N.C. — There are a long list of new charges against a Cleveland County man accused of secretly recording girls on his yacht in South Carolina.

For the first time, William Hilliard is facing federal charges.

A federal indictment revealed 42 counts against him in both Gaston and Cleveland counties. Hilliard is accused of producing and transporting child pornography across state lines, from Lake Wylie in South Carolina to Gaston County.

According to the indictment, he also transported child pornography from Myrtle Beach to Cleveland County.

Prosecutors say Hilliard engaged in sex acts with minor victims. Cleveland County detectives say he had a scheme on his yacht in Myrtle Beach, and is accused of recording girls in the shower and bathroom.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office say there are a total of 12 victims involved. The allegations date back to 2011.

Hilliard is expected in court on Wednesday for an arraignment hearing.
