CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Two people were taken to the hospital after police said a driver hit two women near a railroad crossing in uptown early Monday morning.
According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police, the vehicle hit the two pedestrians at the intersection of North College Street and 6th Street around 2 a.m. Police said the driver did not stop and crashed onto the tracks near the dead end of College Street. The pedestrians suffered injuries that aren't considered life-threatening.
CMPD said the driver and the passenger of the car were both taken to a hospital by Medic with potentially serious injuries.
Detectives have not identified the driver of the vehicle or announced any charges. This is a developing story. Please stick with WCNC.com as more information becomes available.
