ROCK HILL, S.C. -- A Rock Hill father is facing charges after his young children were found wandering the streets alone on Thanksgiving day.

The children, who are 4 and 6 years old, were found walking around the 1000 block of Ebenezer Avenue extension.

Rock Hill police spokesperson Mark Bollinger said thankfully a good Samaritan found the children.

“He asked them where they lived, he took them back to the house and rang the doorbell and couldn’t get anybody there so he called police,” Bollinger said.

Police arrived and entered the home and found the suspect, 36-year-old Brian Bronson, asleep.

Police struggled to wake him, and also reported the smell of burnt marijuana.

“The officers asked the children did you try to wake your dad up?” Bollinger said. “They said yeah but he wouldn’t wake up.”

And not only did the children leave the house undetected, they also trashed the house, throwing their toys everywhere, spilling water on the floor, and drawing on the walls and furniture with magic markers.

Police reported the children were also playing inside Bronson’s car, which was unlocked with the keys in the ignition.

Bronson is charged with 2 counts of unlawful neglect of a child.
