CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating a deadly shooting in northeast Charlotte early Saturday morning.
Officers were called to the 4000 block of Collegiate Avenue in the University area just before 3 a.m.
When officers arrived on scene they found a man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead by Medic. Family told NBC Charlotte that the victim was 21 years old, but police have not identified any of the victims in the incident.
Police say a large group of people were inside an apartment when an altercations occurred that led to the shooting.
While officers were at the scene investigating, police say three additional people showed up at the hospital with gunshot wounds.
The shooting remains under investigation. No arrests have been made at this time.
