CMPD identifies man killed in southeast Charlotte shooting

According to police, the incident happened on Skyland Ave. sometime Wednesday evening.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police are investigating after a man was shot and killed in southeast Charlotte Wednesday night. 

According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police, officers responded to a reported shooting in the 300 block of Skyland Avenue a little after 9:30 p.m. When officers got to the area, they found a man who had been shot multiple times. The victim, identified as 28-year-old Marcus Okoye Withers, was rushed to a hospital by Medic where he was pronounced dead.
