Man charged with bringing meth on school property

A Caldwell County man was arrested Wednesday after police say he brought methamphetamine on school property.

LENOIR, N.C. – A Caldwell County man was arrested Wednesday after police say he brought methamphetamine on school property.

According to the Lenoir Police Department, Hibriten High School resource officer Brandon Thomas was notified of school personnel of a suspicious vehicle in the school’s parking lot. Police say three men were in the car, which was parked directly in front of the school.

Officers say that Colt David Everhart, 27, was in possession of meth and drug paraphernalia determined to be valued at $225. Everhart was charged with felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell, deliver and possession of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of school property. He is scheduled to appear in court Thursday.
