CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are investigating after a man was shot in west Charlotte Thursday night.

According to CMPD, officers responded to a shooting in the 3500 block of Crestridge Drive a little before 10 p.m. When police arrived, one person was found suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

The victim was taken to CMC, according to police.

Police identified the suspect as Noah Darrian Chambers, 18. He was arrested on Friday without incident.

Chambers has been charged with attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

The victim is in critical condition at CMC. The investigation is still ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
