14-year-old boy shot, killed in west Charlotte

According to Medic, the shooting happened on Ashely Rd near Wilkinson Blvd.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A teenager has died following a shooting in west Charlotte Thursday evening, Medic reports. 

According to Medic, the shooting happened on Ashely Rd near Wilkinson Blvd. 

CMPD said the victim, a teen, was shot in the head at a gas station in Ashley Road. Police on scene said it appears the shooting was drug-related, though CMPD has not mentioned that in any of the case updates that have followed.

The victim has since been identified as 14-year-old Ferrell Bradley.

Friday, CMPD charged two people for Bradley's murder — 29-year-old Jamall Rashaun Hallman and 27-year-old Swade Vidal Patterson. 

WCNC Charlotte spoke to Robert Gould with Hope For Harvest said the organization mentored Ferrell. Gould said Ferrell was full of life and had big dreams. 

"Extremely bright, determined, focused young man," Gould said.
