Suspect identified in North Charlotte shooting

Police arrested a 14-year-old Friday, in connection to the shooting.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department arrested and charged a 14-year-old in connection to a North Charlotte shooting. 

The teen was not identified but is charged with murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon. 

CMPD launched a homicide investigation in the north part of the city Tuesday, November 29, 2022. On Wednesday, November 30, officers confirmed a 21-year-old man had died.

According to an alert shared around 1 p.m., CMPD said a person was pronounced dead along Rachel Street in the Druid Hills South neighborhood. In an update, CMPD confirmed Quantarrius Sturdivant had died of a gunshot wound on the scene. The call for the scene came in as an assault with a deadly weapon.
