One person arrested in series of vehicle break-ins overnight

After a search of the parking lot, deputies identified as many as 12 vehicles broken into. All of the vehicles that were entered were unlocked.

LINCOLNTON, N.C. — Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Charlie District deputies arrested one man following a rash of vehicle break-ins at the Riverwalk Apartments in eastern Lincoln County.

Deputies were dispatched to the area around 1:00 a.m. on November 28 after the Lincoln County Communications Center received a call about vehicles in the parking lot being broken into.

When deputies arrived, they located a suspect who ran from the scene. After a brief foot chase, he was apprehended.

After a search of the parking lot, deputies identified as many as 12 vehicles broken into. Not all had been reported. All of the vehicles that were entered were unlocked.

The incidents are still under investigation to determine what items may have been stolen.

The suspect arrested in the case has been identified as Antonio Shaquille Williams, 25, of Hickory, NC.

Williams is charged with 11 felony counts of breaking and entering a vehicle and one misdemeanor count each of larceny, possession of a controlled substance and resist, delay and obstruct a public officer. He was placed in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a $60,000 secured bond.
