16-year old shot, killed in north Charlotte Sunday morning

CMPD responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call for service around 12:51 a.m. in the 5800 block of Linda Vista Lane.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — One person is dead after being shot in north Charlotte early Sunday morning.

CMPD responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call for service around 12:51 a.m. in the 5800 block of Linda Vista Lane. Officers arrived to the location and found 16-year-old Fabrizio Davalos laying in the roadway with an apparent gunshot wound. 

Medic transported Davalos to Atrium Heath's Carolina Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead. 

According to officers, after investigating they believe Davalos had just left a party at a nearby residence prior to the shooting. He was found in the roadway along with an unoccupied running vehicle that was also shot into.

The woman who lives at the house where the party was held says her son had a birthday party, but that she didn't know the victim.

Officers have not mentioned any suspect information or arrest. This is an active homicide investigation.
