SALISBURY, N.C. -- Salisbury police arrested a man who was wanted in connection with the murder of a 20-year-old man Tuesday.

Police took 20-year-old Terry Eugene Watson Jr. into custody after he was served with warrants for murder, as well as shooting into an occupied vehicle and assault on a female.

According to authorities, the deadly shooting took place Monday night when Salisbury police responded to a call in the 200 building of Laurel Point Apartments.

Officers were then called to Novant Rowan Regional Medical Center where they said 20-year-old Isaiah Gillespie was brought in by a private vehicle. Gillespie later died of a gunshot wound, authorities said.
