Three children inside home when gunman opened fire in northwest Charlotte; one woman hit

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department reports one woman was shot after a gunman opened fire on a house in northwest Charlotte late early Friday morning.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department reports one woman was shot after a gunman opened fire on a house in northwest Charlotte late early Friday morning.

The shooting happened just before 2 a..m Friday morning on Bristle Lane.

According to police, three children were inside the home at the time of the shooting -- the children were not injured. Police said one woman was shot in the leg as a result of the shooting and sustained non-life threatening injuries.

Police said someone driving down the road in northwest Charlotte began to randomly fire their weapon, hitting multiple cars and then finally the victim's home.

Police are still looking for the suspect(s) in this case and anyone who knows anything is asked to contact police immediately.
