Victim identified in fatal north Charlotte double shooting

CMPD said two men were shot at the intersection of Hidden Valley Road and West Sugar Creek around 1 a.m. Monday.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are investigating after a man died in a double shooting in Hidden Valley early Monday. 

Officers were called to a reported shooting at the intersection of Hidden Valley Road and West Sugar Creek around 1 a.m. When CMPD got to the intersection, they found two men who had been shot. One of the victims, 20-year-old Jamil Davis was pronounced dead at the scene. A second man was taken to Atrium Health with injuries that aren't life-threatening. 

A CMPD K-9 unit was called to the scene but was unable to locate the shooter. Detectives said officers found a parked vehicle on Hidden Valley Road at Yuma Street that they believe could be connected to the shooting. 

CMPD has not released any suspect information or announced any arrests.
