CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are investigating a homicide near Reedy Creek in east Charlotte.
CMPD was called to a home in the 9000 block of Faires Road around 8:30 Monday morning to assist Medic. When officers got to the home, they found a man suffering from apparent trauma. He was pronounced dead on the scene by Medic.
CMPD later charged Shakeli Lewis, 30, for the murder of 27-year-old Deon Cortez Thompson.
Lewis was brought to the Hickory Grove Division office after she was identified as a suspect. She was interviewed by detectives, then taken into custody and charged with first degree murder.
