CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A woman has been arrested and charged with attempted murder in the shooting of a Charlotte man last month, the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department reports.

According to police, the shooting victim invited 18-year-old Zymirah Joseph over to his home to smoke marijuana with him. Police said when Joseph arrived, the victim noticed that an unknown male was with her and was hiding.

Police said Joseph tried to lure the victim out of the house and when that did not work the 2nd unknown suspect fired into the home with a handgun.

Police report the victim was struck multiple times but was able to close the door and prevent the suspects from entering his home.

According to police, the suspects fled and the victim was transported by MEDIC to the hospital where he was treated for serious, but non-life threatening gunshot wounds.

On Wednesday, police arrested Joseph on N. Tryon near W.T. Harris.

She has been charged with attempted murder, 5 counts of shooting into an occupied property, and felony conspiracy.  The second suspect has not yet been identified.
