Women robbed after meeting man for Facebook Marketplace exchange

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — CMPD charged 19-year-old Terrence Greene with three counts of armed robbery and three counts of conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

On June 5, police were called to the 7300 block of Riding Trail Rd where a victim said she met Greene to purchase a phone that was advertised for sale on Facebook Marketplace. 

Police report, the victim was with two other people when Greene robbed her at gunpoint and fled the scene.

After investigation and the evidence collected detectives were able to identify Greene and issue a warrant for his arrest.

Police located Greene on June 13 and took him into custody. 

This investigation is still active and ongoing.

CMPD also reminds everyone of designated exchange zones at various Quick Trip locations around the city as a safer alternative while conducting online transactions.
