Kemba Walker named starter in 2019 NBA All-Star Game in Charlotte

This marks the guard's third consecutive selection and first time starting.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte Hornet Kemba Walker will make his third appearance in the NBA All-Star game next month.

This is Walker's first time as a starter. He and Glen Rice are the only players to represent Charlotte in three All-Star Games.

Walker is the third Hornets player to start an All-Star Game, along with Larry Johnson (1993) and Eddie Jones (2000).

Shortly after the announcement, the team tweeted, "HIS CITY! HIS TIME!" The 68th annual game will take place at the Spectrum Center in uptown on Sunday, Feb. 17.

Walker is the seventh player to represent Charlotte in the NBA All-Star Game.

Other previous All-Stars include Larry Johnson (1993 and 1995), Alonzo Mourning (1994 and 1995), Glen Rice (1996, 1997 and 1998), Eddie Jones (2000), Baron Davis (2002) and Gerald Wallace (2010).
