Car pulled from retention pond in northeast Charlotte

Charlotte Fire's dive team was called in for a rescue operation in northeast Charlotte Thursday morning.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A submerged vehicle was pulled from a pond in northeast Charlotte Thursday.

Charlotte Fire was called by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police to a retention pond on Orr Road around 10:30 a.m. Thursday. Charlotte Fire sent at least one diver into the water and found a car in the water.

CMPD said there were no injuries and it's unclear how the vehicle got into the pond at this time. A passerby saw tire tracks and called police to investigate.
