GASTONIA, N.C. — A fire broke out at Burger King in Gastonia on Friday night.

It happened around 7 p.m. at 1911 W. Franklin Blvd. The building was evacuated.

Officials said a broiler caught fire due to excess grease. The exhaust hood had flames coming out of the top that shot five to six feet in the air, fire officials said.

The store was expected to be closed for at least four to five days. No one was hurt.
