Hoodline crunched the numbers to find the top pizza outlets in Charlotte, using both Yelp data and our own secret sauce to produce a ranked list of where to satisfy your cravings.

1. Inizio Pizza Napoletana

Topping the list is Inizio Pizza Napoletana. Located at 10620 Providence Road, Suite A, in Providence Commons, it is the highest-rated pizza place in Charlotte, boasting 4.5 stars out of 333 reviews on Yelp. It has a second location in Dilworth.

The traditional Neapolitan-style pies are baked in a wood-fired oven. Red pizzas include the Margherita, topped with San Marzano tomato sauce, buffalo mozzarella, basil, garlic and pecorino, and the Diavola, topped with spicy salami, Calabrian pepper, tomato sauce, mozzarella and pecorino.

Signature pies include the Vampire Slayer, topped with roasted garlic puree, ricotta spread and ghost pepper salami; the Farm Hand with tomato, mozzarella, spinach and pork sausage; and the Tree Hugger with oregano oil, mozzarella and white onions.

3. Pizzeria Omaggio

Downtown Charlotte's Pizzeria Omaggio, located at 1055 Metropolitan Ave., Suite 130, is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the Italian spot 4.5 stars out of 198 reviews.

4. Due Amici Pizza

Due Amici Pizza in Highland Creek is another much-loved go-to, with 4.5 stars out of 161 Yelp reviews.

5. DeSano Pizzeria Napoletana

Then there's DeSano Pizzeria Napoletana, which has earned 4.5 stars out of 120 reviews on Yelp. You can find the Italian spot, which offers pizza and more, at 1500 E. Third St. in the Cherry neighborhood.

The Neapolitan pizzas are baked in a wood-burning oven and include the San Gennaro, topped with San Marzano tomato sauce, sausage, peppadews, garlic, caramelized onions, scamorza, buffalo mozzarella and pecorino romano, and the Desano, which is made with tomato sauce, sausage, pepperoni, garlic, scamorza, mozzarella and pecorino romano.
