IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. -- The Iredell County Sheriff's Office conducted an investigation at Lake Norman High School on Monday after a student posted videos on YouTube that deputies described as "graphic in nature."

Deputies say the student's videos involved violent shootings from a video game with the student narrating it. The student is currently being suspended from school for making threats the previous week, according to deputies.

Parents tell NBC Charlotte they are not comfortable with the student returning to school.

"Why would a kid of my daughter's age have any thought of that?" said one parent.

The student was also suspended last school year for "weapon on school property" and making violent threats at another school, deputies say.

"I can't imagine like a Columbine incident like that or something happening here," said the parent. "[Being] 16 years old is supposed to be the best time of your life. You're supposed to be enjoying high school and worrying about what dress you wear to homecoming. Not if someone is going to come to school and shoot me.

Deputies say the case is still under investigation.
