CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Hyrum Timmons is proving that he understands how the power of work can change lives.
Timmons started out as a donation processor for Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont back in 2011, and now, he’s worked his way up in the company. Today, he’s the manager of the store in Ballantyne; one of the busiest in our area.
"I love Goodwill. I love the mission, changing lives there, the power work,” he said.
Tonya Darrow is a district manager for Goodwill. She says he make a great manager because he’s truly a role model for other employees.
"He can say to his employees there's nothing that I haven't already done,” said Darrow.
Dedication was the driving force behind Timmons’ success.
"Hyrum is just like a sponge, as soon as he came in the door he wanted to know what's this report, how do you do this? How do I make myself better?"
He plans to continue to move forward with Goodwill.
"It's definitely a place that I see myself in the next 10, 20 years,” he said.
