GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — Firefighters are battling a 3-alarm fire early Thursday morning at the Daimler Trucks North America Facility in Gaston County.

According to officials, the call was received at around 7:33 a.m. early Thursday morning. Gaston County EMS reports the fire is on the roof and there are no reports of injuries.

According to the Gastonia Fire Department, workers were demolishing a large paint booth when a gas cutting torch they were using ignited paint left over in the booth's exhaust section.

All workers were evacuated, and firefighters controlled the flames in about 45 minutes.

As of 9:00 a.m. the fire is under control.
