CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police say a woman was fatally struck by a car in east Charlotte Saturday night.
Medic responded to a pedestrian-struck call in the 3400 block of The Plaza. CMPD said the female pedestrian hit by the car was pronounced dead at the scene.
The woman has been identified as 41-year-old Tiffany Monique Ray.
After a preliminary investigation, CMPD says Ray was crossing the Plaza wearing dark clothing and was not in a marked crosswalk or intersection.
Police say alcohol and speed were not contributing factor for the driver.
